Hibiscus Sour

Hibiscus Sour (3 of 3).jpg

Hibiscus Sour

2 oz Gin
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 oz Hibiscus Syrup
1/2 oz Egg White
Garnish: Hibiscus Blossom (soaked in syrup)

Combine ingredients into a shaker and dry shake (no ice) for 15 seconds. Add ice and shake for another 15 seconds. Double strain into a chilled coupe, and garnish with a hibiscus blossom.

Time to roll out the red carpet. It’s one of those gorgeous drinks you wish you could wear. Frothy, delicious and delicately floral.

Pro Tip: I prefer to use the syrup found in jars of wild hibiscus flowers in syrup. Then I use those flowers themselves as garnish. It’s expensive but the quality is second to none. You can find such edible flowers in gourmet food shops.
