Cocktails in the Jungle is an evolving site for fans of mixology and the pure enjoyment of sipping a hand-crafted cocktail. Making a drink should not be difficult, so this site delivers simple, easy-to-follow recipes to create cocktails that not only taste amazing but also look beautiful.

Over time, Cindy hopes to build a community around mixology. While she is only a cocktail enthusiast and has no formal training and not technically in the hospitality industry, mixology is something she is passionate about. She’s observed that such websites are often built and designed by men, for men. The hope is for Cocktails in the Jungle to bring a female, non-professional perspective into the world of mixology. What would happen if your average female client (who normally would love a night out at her favourite bar) wanted to finish work and mix a drink for herself at home? Where would she start? Hopefully here.

And while we’re just starting with a small number of cocktail recipes, it won’t stop there. Send in your own favourite recipes for Cindy to try out, and it might be added to the site! She’ll also highlight amazing drinks at local and international locations while travelling. Make sure you send her your experiences too so that we can all pile on and truly build this community. It’s also her desire to profile female leaders of mixology - and maybe one or two new recipes from these stars behind the bars.

Cindy lives, works and shakes a mean whiskey sour from Vancouver, Canada. She’s also available for anyone who wants to make a cocktail for her.

But if you really wanna know why she created this website, read the Day Zero blog post.

And yes, she took all the cocktail photos on the website (apologies in advance as she’s still working on her skills). If you want to use any of the photos (for any reason), please contact Cindy directly (be nice and don’t steal). She also created the recipes marked ‘original recipe’ so if you’ve made cocktails with these recipes - and like them - leave a comment, or tag @cocktailsinthejungle on Instagram. You can also send her a nice note at hello@cocktailsinthejungle.com. If you’re so inclined, she’s got a separate lifestyle blog as The Vancouverite.
